Jesse Brooks is a scenographer and magician from Cape Town. Subsequent to obtaining a degree in Psychology and Visual Studies from Stellenbosch University, he has made work in places like the Karoo Desert, the Hollywood Hills and the mountain tops of Tuscany (where he ran away with a circus for a while). He has been involved in creative consultation for film and television, and was a selected artist for a residential masterclass in Experiential Design with Odyssey Works in New York. He has also recently served as magic consultant to Steven Cohen in a new production created across France and Switzerland. He has participated within the NGO sector for many years, designing and facilitating psychodramatic process-work programmes for adolescents.

Jesse draws on his experience as a professional magician in his designs and is particularly interested in exploring ways to rekindle experiences of wonder.
